Resumen
Following some ideas of sir James George Frazer in his famous essay The Golden Bough, Charlotte Broad analyzes the double motive in the fiction, which centers around the mysterious development of man’s consciousness. Perhaps, this motive is one of the richest and most intriguing in literature.
